　　With the arrival of spring, China is brimming with new vitality. At present, spring plowing and preparation are underway across the country. Agricultural technicians are venturing into the fields to provide guidance to farmers, making thorough preparations to ensure a bumper grain harvest this year.

　　Jiangxi: Early Rice Spring Planting Has Begun

　　In Nanchang’s Xinjian District, farmers are seizing the favorable soil moisture conditions to vigorously carry out land tillage, marking the official start of early rice production across the district’s 380,000 mu of farmland. To gain precious time for early rice cultivation, six large-scale machines have begun preparing the fields.

　　Xia Qingyi, a large-scale grain farmer in Lianwei Town, Xinjian District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province: This year, we implemented fully mechanized operations, which have not only boosted efficiency but also cut costs.

　　Jilin: Reclaiming and restoring saline-alkali land to enable more farmland to yield crops.

　　Although the weather in Northeast China remains bitterly cold, preparations for spring farming are already in full swing. In Da’an City, Jilin Province, a 2,000-hectare saline-alkali land improvement project is advancing rapidly. Dozens of heavy-duty machines are shuttling back and forth, carrying out preparatory work for the next phase of soil remediation.

　　Shi Xiangdong, Project Manager at Sinochem Environmental Remediation (Jilin) Co., Ltd.: We are using heavy machinery to level the land and construct irrigation channels. Next, we will apply soil amendments to reduce the soil’s salinity and alkalinity. All these tasks will be completed before rice transplanting. By autumn, this area will be lush with golden rice paddies.

　　Poyang, Jiangxi: Spring Farming Kicks Off on the Waterways, with Busy Crab-Seedling Stocking

　　In addition to spring plowing on land, aquatic farming is also entering its prime season. At a 1,000-mu crab‑farming pond in Poyang County, Jiangxi Province, workers are seizing the opportune moment to sort crab larvae by sex and then distribute them into separate ponds. According to reports, crab farmers have been busy with their spring aquaculture efforts since the ninth day of the first lunar month, and the release of juvenile crabs is now nearing completion.

　　Zhang Chunfeng, head of the Special Aquaculture Base in Poyang County, Jiangxi Province: We’ve stocked approximately 3.5 million fry, and with favorable rainy-season conditions, we expect a yield of around 150 tons.

　　Nationwide supplies of agricultural inputs for spring plowing and preparation are ample and well‑secured.

　　To ensure an adequate supply of agricultural inputs for spring farming, the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives has established a dedicated task force to safeguard the supply of agricultural materials, actively building a three-tier emergency supply system at the provincial, municipal, and county levels to provide farmers with both input supplies and production services.
