    The European Union and Australia have revised the maximum residue limits for products containing thiamethoxam, among others.

    According to the Official Journal of the European Union, on February 15, 2023, the European Commission adopted Regulation (EU) 2023/334, amending… Clothianidin and Thiamethoxam Maximum residue limits in certain products. Annexes II and V to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 are hereby amended as follows:

     

    • In Annex II, delete the entries for clothianidin and thiamethoxam;

    • In Annex V, add two entries for clothianidin and thiamethoxam:

    It is understood that this Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

     


     

    On February 10, 2023, the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) issued Consultation Document No. 109386, proposing to establish maximum residue limits for certain food commodities. Benzoxadiazole fungicide The maximum residue limits are specified in the table below (* indicates that the MRL is set at or near the limit of detection, as detailed on page 17 of the document). The public consultation period for this advisory document closes on March 10, 2023.
