　　On November 9, the 2022 China–South Korea–Vietnam Rice Migratory Pest and Viral Disease Monitoring Project Summary Meeting was held in a hybrid online–offline format. Based on the scientific fact that China, South Korea, and Vietnam share the East Asian insect migration corridor and serve as mutual sources of pest populations, the meeting analyzed and exchanged information on the 2022 incidence trends of rice migratory pests and viral diseases across the three countries. It also systematically summarized the outcomes of the fourth phase of the China–South Korea project and the progress of the first phase of the Vietnam–South Korea project, while fully recognizing the significant role these projects have played since their inception in facilitating data exchange and information sharing on major plant pests and diseases among the three nations, enhancing regional monitoring and early‑warning capabilities, and safeguarding food security in East Asia and Southeast Asia.
　　The meeting also discussed the priorities for the next phase of collaborative projects. All three parties affirmed their commitment to addressing the critical need for joint monitoring, early warning, and management of migratory pests in East Asia and Southeast Asia. They pledged to seize opportunities, look ahead, further strengthen cooperation, broaden its scope, and innovate its modalities, thereby providing more robust technical support to enhance the capacity for coordinated pest surveillance, safeguard food production security and staple‑food supply, and promote the basic well-being of the people.
　　Wei Qiwen, Director of the National Agricultural Technology Center of China; Kwon Cheol-hee, Director-General of the Rural Support Bureau of the Republic of Korea; and Nguyen Van Lieu, Director of the Plant Protection Research Institute of Vietnam, attended the meeting and delivered remarks. The project implementation teams from China, South Korea, and Vietnam, along with relevant industry experts, also participated.
