    In September 2021, 723 products were registered, with thiamethoxam, glyphosate, and bifenthrin accounting for the largest number of registrations.

    In September 2021, the Pesticide Testing Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs approved the registration of a total of 723 products, including 226 herbicides, 187 insecticides, 140 fungicides, 83 public‑health insecticides, 57 plant growth regulators, 21 insecticide–fungicide combinations, 3 acaricides, 2 plant‑induced resistance agents, 2 nematicides, 1 molluscicide, and 1 insect sex pheromone.

     

    In September, the pesticides approved for registration included six products designated solely for export, covering propiconazole, chlorfluazuron‑bifenazate, fluroxypyr, chlorothalonil, metalaxyl, and haloxyfop‑P‑ethyl.

     

    From the perspective of active ingredients, among the products approved in September, thiamethoxam was the most frequently cited active ingredient (37 entries), followed by glyphosate (33 entries) and bifenthrin (31 entries), with thiacloprid, pyraclostrobin, flonicamid, sulfoxaflor, fluopyram, chlorantraniliprole, and glufosinate‑ammonium ranking next.

    From the perspective of formulation types, suspension concentrates, soluble concentrates, and emulsifiable concentrates are the three most frequently registered formulations, with 194, 118, and 64 registrations, respectively. There were 10 active‑ingredient registrations, including three new pesticides: tetrazypyrimidyl‑amino acid from Japan’s Showa Denko, dichloroisoxyuron from FMC, and thiofentozide from Zhejiang Yulong.

    Based on the registered product names, 10 formulations containing ammonium glufosinate were approved—the highest number—followed by 10 combination products of flonicamid and bifenthrin, and 10 single‑ingredient formulations of thiamethoxam.

    From the perspective of manufacturing enterprises, in September 2021, the companies that obtained the largest number of registration certificates were: Hunan Xin Changshan Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. (14 items), Shaanxi Meibang Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (14 items), Shaanxi Thompson Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (12 items), Shaanxi Yitianfeng Crop Science Co., Ltd. (11 items), Guangdong Foshan Yinghui Crop Science Co., Ltd. (10 items), Shandong Cao Da Chemical Co., Ltd. (9 items), Sichuan Baishi Dongwang Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (9 items), Tianjin Huayu Pesticide Co., Ltd. (9 items), Shaanxi Kangheli Feng Biotechnology Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (8 items), and Heilongjiang Lüfengyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (8 items).
