1. Production of technical-grade chemical pesticides from January to November 2020

According to data from the China Business Industry Research Institute, from March to September 2020, the output of chemical pesticide technicals declined steadily from 228,000 tons to 152,000 tons, with a slight rebound in October and November. In November 2020, national production of chemical pesticide technicals reached 196,000 tons, up 24.8% year on year. For the full year 2020, total national production of chemical pesticide technicals amounted to 1.925 million tons, an increase of 0.9% compared with the previous year.

2. China’s Pesticide Export Situation from January to November 2020

From January to November 2020, both the volume and value of pesticide imports and exports increased. Notably, the year-to-date growth in pesticide exports for 2020 exceeded the full-year growth rate recorded in 2019. Affected by the pandemic and the Lunar New Year holiday, China’s pesticide exports experienced a sharp double-digit decline only in February; thereafter, exports posted robust growth in March, April, May, and June. Growth rates gradually moderated during July, August, and September, before surging again in October and November.
