South Africa typically includes Botswana, Namibia, Angola, the Republic of South Africa, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, the Comoros, Mauritius, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mayotte, and Réunion.

Africa is one of China’s major markets for pesticide exports. The African pesticide market is valued at roughly over US$2 billion, yet demand has been growing annually, with projections indicating that its potential could reach as high as US$10 billion. However, due to low agricultural productivity in many African countries and relatively underdeveloped pesticide management and application practices compared with other regions, coupled with complex political, economic, and logistical challenges, Chinese companies still face considerable uncertainties when seeking to enter the African market through formal channels.
