| Xia Jingyuan graduated in 1981 from Huazhong Agricultural University with a major in Plant Protection. In 1988, he earned a master’s degree in entomology from the University of the Philippines and the International Rice Research Institute, and in 1997, he obtained a doctoral degree in entomology from Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), commonly referred to as “the FAO,” was officially established on October 16, 1945, with its headquarters in Rome, Italy. It is the earliest permanent specialized agency within the United Nations system and serves as an international organization for member countries to discuss issues related to food and agriculture.
