On May 2, the review comments on the energy‑saving report for the new project of Inner Mongolia Derui Biotechnology Co., Ltd.—which will produce 10,000 tons per year of thiamethoxam, 20,000 tons per year of 2‑chloro‑5‑chloromethylthiazole, and 3,000 tons per year of thiacloprid technical grade—were made public on the company’s website. According to Inner Mongolia Chemical Industry, the project is currently being expedited. Inner Mongolia Derui Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Hebei Derui Chemical Co., Ltd.

The project is located in the Low-Carbon Industrial Park of the Wuhai Economic Development Zone, covering an area of approximately 170,235 square meters. The main products include 10,000 tons per year of thiamethoxam, 20,000 tons per year of 2-chloro-5-(chloromethyl)thiazole, and 3,000 tons per year of thiacloprid technical grade. By-products comprise a 40% methylamine hydrochloride solution, urotropine, 15% sodium hypochlorite, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and 30% hydrochloric acid. The primary construction components include production facilities for thiamethoxam, 2-chloro-5-(chloromethyl)thiazole, and thiacloprid, as well as a recovery workshop. The total investment for the project amounts to RMB 559.005 million, with environmental protection investments totaling approximately RMB 70 million, accounting for 12.52% of the total construction investment.
