    Japan has lifted its monitoring and inspection requirements for thiamethoxam in Chinese-produced scallions and clothianidin in perilla.

    On October 25, Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare issued Notification No. 1025–2, stating that, based on inspection results to date, monitoring inspections for thiamethoxam in Chinese-produced Welsh onions have been lifted, and, drawing on inspection data from the past year, monitoring inspections for thiacloprid in Chinese-produced perilla have also been discontinued.
