The Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced that the second round of “follow-up” inspections—conducted by the central ecological and environmental protection inspection teams in 10 provinces—has fully entered the on-the-ground phase. As of the evening of November 16, the inspection teams had collectively forwarded 14,262 valid complaints to the inspected regions; these regions have completed investigations into 4,124 cases, held talks with 416 individuals, and held 404 people accountable. From October 30 to November 6, the five inspection teams of the second round of central ecological and environmental protection “follow-up” inspections successively carried out on-site inspections in Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, Anhui, Shandong, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Shaanxi—totaling 10 provinces.
