How should product trademark information be reported under the new pesticide registration regulations? Official guidance on the operational procedures.

In accordance with Announcement No. 925 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, pesticide products bearing the same registration number shall bear the same trademark. For products manufactured under contract or repackaged, the label shall not display the trademark of the contracting party. Holders of pesticide registration certificates are required to accurately and promptly report and update the trademark information indicated on the pesticide label as prescribed.

On December 24, 2025, the Pesticide Testing Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued a notice regarding the submission of trademark information for pesticide products. The Institute stated that, entrusted by the Department of Crop Production Management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, it has established a dedicated section on the China Pesticide Information Network for this purpose and hereby provides the following guidance:

I. Submission Method

The registrant shall log in to the submission portal on the “Digital Platform” section of the China Pesticide Information Network using their enterprise account and password.

When completing the pesticide product label trademark information, accurately enter the actual position of each trademark on the label (at the four corners) in the corresponding input fields (with each corner of the label mapped to one of the four trademark‑position fields). When selecting options, choose one or more fields based on the trademarks’ actual positions.

Each input field may display one or more trademarks, but the information must be compiled into a single image for upload. The image’s colors must match the actual label and be clear and easily legible, with a file size not exceeding 2 MB. After submission, the system will confirm successful entry and automatically record the date of submission.

II. Viewing Method

Within one business day after submission, the public may view the submitted results via the “Label and Trademark Inquiry” section on the China Pesticide Information Network.

If, due to special circumstances such as corporate mergers or splits, or changes to a registered trademark, it is necessary to amend the marked trademark, the certificate holder may resubmit the information in accordance with the procedures outlined above. After submission, the resubmitted trademark details and their date, as well as the previously submitted trademark details and their date, can be viewed in the “Label and Trademark Inquiry” section.
