In May 2025, China’s ICAMA officially approved the registration of 446 pesticide products, including 135 herbicides, 164 insecticides, 104 fungicides, 47 plant growth regulators, 20 public health insecticides, 3 acaricides, 3 nematicides, 1 molluscicide, and 1 plant resistance inducer.
In May 2025, 30 active ingredients and 3 technical-grade products received new registrations. Among them, six sulfonylpyrazole‑oxime active ingredients were registered, accounting for the largest number of newly registered active ingredients. Two oxazolinyl‑carboxylic acid active ingredients were also newly registered, while all other active or technical‑grade products had one registration each.


From the perspective of registered active ingredients, as of May 2025, a total of 446 pesticide products are registered, involving more than 200 active ingredients. Among these, 20 active ingredients have been approved for more than 10 products, accounting for 36.87% of the total. Chlorantraniliprole is the most frequently registered active ingredient, with 40 registrations; thiamethoxam follows closely with 32 registrations. The remaining active ingredients, in descending order, include pyraclostrobin (17 registrations), tebuconazole, flonicamid, emamectin benzoate, and hexythiazox, each with 14 registrations; azoxystrobin and chlorfenapyr, each with 13; abamectin, glufosinate‑ammonium, and prothioconazole, each with 12; cyproconazole and atrazine, each with 11; and bensulfuron‑methyl, bifenthrin, cyhalofop‑butyl, fluquinconazole, etoxazole, and oxadiazon, each with 10 product registrations.

From the perspective of registered formulation types, suspension concentrates were the most frequently approved in May 2025, with a total of 166 products, accounting for 37.22% of all registrations. They were followed by soluble solutions (65 registrations), emulsifiable concentrates (40), granules (36), dispersible oil‑in‑water suspensions (29), water‑dispersible granules (20), seed‑treatment suspensions (13), microemulsions (12), oil‑in‑water emulsions (5), wettable powders (4), soluble granules (4), and suspension‑emulsions (3), among others.

Based on the registered crops, rice, wheat, citrus trees, and maize were the most frequently registered crop types as of May 2025. Other registered crops include cabbage, non-cultivated land, grapes, sugarcane, watermelon, tea plants, peanuts, cucumbers, peppers, and various other vegetable and fruit crops as well as other cash crops.
As of May 2025, a total of 216 enterprises have obtained 446 pesticide registrations. Among them, nine companies each hold five or more registration certificates: Foshan Yinghui Crop Science Co., Ltd. (7), Liufuding Crop Protection Co., Ltd. (7), Qingdao Runnong Chemical Co., Ltd. (6), Henan Hans Crop Protection Co., Ltd. (6), Anhui Bohai Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (5), Anhui Shalonda Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (5), Henan Yuzhixing Crop Protection Co., Ltd. (5), Shandong Weifang Runfeng Chemical Co., Ltd. (5), and Shanghai Yuelian Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (5).
