On the 18th, reporters learned from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment that, with the approval of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the third round of the third batch of central ecological and environmental protection inspections has been fully launched.

It is reported that this round of inspections will establish eight central ecological and environmental protection inspection teams, which will conduct one-month on-site inspections in four provinces—Jiangsu, Anhui, Sichuan, and Guizhou—and at four centrally administered enterprises: China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petrochemical Corporation, Sinochem Holdings Corporation Limited, and China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation.

Inspection authorities have consistently prioritized the thorough implementation of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilization and the spirit of important instructions and directives issued by General Secretary Xi Jinping. They have earnestly carried out the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, coordinated economic development, people’s livelihoods, and ecological and environmental protection, served the overarching goal of economic growth, adhered to a systems‑based approach, maintained a problem‑oriented stance and a rigorous tone, and ensured precision, science, and compliance with the law. By fully leveraging the powerful role of inspection, they are promoting high‑quality development through high‑level environmental protection.

During the inspection, the inspection team will conscientiously implement the requirements for addressing formalism and alleviating burdens on the grassroots level, thereby effectively reducing the workload of frontline staff.

During their on-site inspections, each inspection team has established a dedicated telephone hotline and postal mailbox to receive written and telephone reports from the entities under inspection regarding ecological and environmental protection.
