Thirty agricultural industry standards related to the environmental impacts of pesticides have been officially released and will take effect on March 1, 2023.

    Release Date:

    2022-11-17

On November 11, 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued Announcement No. 618, approving and promulgating 30 pesticide‑related environmental impact standards— including “Chemical Pesticides: Acute Oral Toxicity Test for Birds—Part 1: Stepwise Method”—following expert review.

The aforementioned standards primarily cover aspects such as the cultivation of biological test materials, testing methods, and risk‑assessment guidelines for pesticide‑registration environmental‑impact studies. They will enter into force on March 1, 2023, and, once implemented, will further standardize pesticide‑registration environmental‑impact testing and risk‑assessment procedures, thereby enhancing the reliability of pesticide‑registration test data and risk‑assessment conclusions. The standard numbers and titles are provided in the annex.
