Overview of Insecticide Registration Status in China as of 2022

According to the Pesticide Information Network, as of now, a total of 47 insecticide products have been registered this year, including 2 technical-grade active ingredients, 16 single‑ingredient formulations, and 29 formulated mixtures.

The registered active ingredients include: flufenoxuron, d-limonene, tetrachlorantraniliprole, chlorfenapyr, Spodoptera exigua nucleopolyhedrovirus, abamectin, chlorantraniliprole, mineral oil, flonicamid, thiamethoxam, thiazolin, metaldehyde, oxymatrine, spirotetramat, thiacloprid, cyromazine, emamectin benzoate, Bacillus thuringiensis, lambda‑cyhalothrin, bifenthrin, deltamethrin, indoxacarb, fludioxonil, matrine, veratrine, ethiprole, and diflubenzuron.

Registered target pests include: cabbage diamondback moth, cabbage beet armyworm, cabbage yellow striped flea beetle, cabbage aphids, and cabbage cutworm; sugarcane borer and sugarcane tortoise bug; tomato whitefly and, in protected cultivation, cotton bollworm; rice stem borer, rice stem borer (second generation), and rice thrips; citrus red spider mite, citrus psyllid, citrus rust mite, citrus leafminer, and citrus scale; corn aphids, corn thrips, and corn leafhopper; goji berry gall mite and goji berry aphids; pear psyllid; leek maggot; cucumber aphids; potato grubs; wheat aphids; eggplant thrips; tea green leafhopper; tobacco budworm in protected cultivation; apple codling moth; peanut grubs; and small cabbage snails.

Among the registered products, the predominant formulation is suspension concentrate; others include technical grade material, granules, emulsifiable concentrate, soluble concentrate, water-dispersible granules, seed‑treatment suspension concentrate, oil‑in‑water emulsion, tablets, and seed‑treatment dispersible powder.
