    Introduction to Crops Suitable for Imidacloprid

     For aphids, leafhoppers, whiteflies, and other pests on cruciferous vegetables, begin spraying at the early stage of infestation or when pest populations start to increase rapidly, repeating every 1–2 weeks for a total of two applications. Apply 30–40 mL of a 5% emulsifiable concentrate, or 30–40 g of a 5% tablet formulation, or 15–20 g of a 10% wettable powder, or 6–8 g of a 25% wettable powder, or 3–4 g of a 50% wettable powder, or 2–3 g of a 70% wettable powder or a 70% water-dispersible granule formulation, or 8–10 mL of a 200 g/L soluble concentrate, or 4–6 mL of a 350 g/L suspension concentrate per 667 m², diluted in 30–45 kg of water and applied as a uniform spray.

     

      For aphids, whiteflies, thrips, and leafminers on tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, watermelons, and other fruiting crops, begin spraying at the early stage of infestation or when pest populations start to increase rapidly, repeating applications every 1–2 weeks for a total of about two sprays. Typically, per 667 square meters, use 60–80 mL of a 5% emulsifiable concentrate, or 60–80 g of a 5% tablet formulation, or 30–40 g of a 10% wettable powder, or 12–16 g of a 2.5% wettable powder, or 6–8 g of a 50% wettable powder, or 4–6 g of a 70% wettable powder or a 70% water-dispersible granule formulation, or 15–20 mL of a 200 g/L soluble concentrate, or 8–12 mL of a 3% 50 g/L suspension concentrate, diluted in 45–60 kg of water for even foliar application.

     

      For greenhouse vegetables, control whiteflies and leafminers by initiating spraying at the early stage of pest emergence, repeating applications every 10–15 days for 2–3 consecutive treatments. Typically, use 80–100 mL of a 5% emulsifiable concentrate, or 80–100 g of a 5% tablet formulation, or 40–60 g of a 10% wettable powder, or 20–25 g of a 25% wettable powder, or 100–120 g of a 50% wettable powder, or 6–8 g of a 70% wettable powder or a 70% water-dispersible granule formulation, or 20–30 mL of a 200 g/L solution formulation, or 12–15 mL of a 350 g/L suspension formulation, diluted in 45–60 kg of water for uniform foliar spray.

     

      Wheat aphids: Before sowing, treat seeds with a seed dressing or coating—use 60–70 grams of a 600 g/L suspension seed‑coating agent, or 50–60 grams of a 70% wettable seed‑treatment formulation per 10 kg of seed; mix thoroughly and allow to dry before planting. During the growing season, apply spray 1–2 times from the heading stage to the early grain‑filling stage. Typically, for every 667 m², use 60–100 mL of a 5% emulsifiable concentrate, or 60–100 g of a 5% tablet formulation, or 30–50 g of a 10% wettable powder, or 12–10 g of a 25% wettable powder, or 6–10 g of a 50% wettable powder, or 4–7 g of a 70% wettable powder or a 70% water‑dispersible granule, or 15–25 mL of a 200 g/L solution, or 8–15 mL of a 350 g/L suspension, diluted in 30–45 kg of water for uniform spraying.

     

      For rice planthoppers and leafhoppers, apply pesticides during the peak hatching period of nymphs up to the third instar, or when the average number of insects per hill is 0.5–1 during the tillering to jointing stages, 10 per hill from booting to heading, 10–15 per hill during the milky‑ripe stage, and 15–20 per hill at the waxy‑ripe stage. Typically, use 60–80 mL of a 5% emulsifiable concentrate, or 60–80 g of a 5% tablet formulation, or 30–40 g of a 10% wettable powder, or 12–16 g of a 25% wettable powder, or 6–8 g of a 50% wettable powder, or 4–6 g of a 70% wettable powder or a 70% water‑dispersible granule, or 15–20 mL of a 200 g/L solution, or 8–12 mL of a 350 g/L suspension, diluted in 30–45 kg of water for uniform spraying. When applying, ensure the spray reaches the lower and middle parts of the plants.

     

      In some regions, brown planthopper resistance to pesticides is quite severe; therefore, caution should be exercised when mixing this product with agents such as buprofezin and isoprocarb.

     

      Cotton aphids and green mirids: Before sowing, treat seeds with a seed dressing or coating. Use 60–80 grams of a 600 g/L suspension seed‑treatment formulation per 10 kg of seed, or 50–70 grams of a 70% wettable powder formulation, thoroughly mixing it into the seed or applying a coating; allow to dry before planting. During the growing season, begin spraying when pest populations start to increase rapidly, repeating every 10–15 days for about two applications. Spray volume should be the same as for “aphids on melons and fruits.”

     

      Tobacco aphids: Begin spraying for control when the aphid population starts to increase rapidly or when the average number of aphids per plant reaches 100. Apply every 10–15 days, repeating twice. The spray volume should be the same as that recommended for “aphids on melons and fruits.”

     

      For beet leaf miners and wireworms, begin spraying at the early stage of pest emergence, repeating every 10–15 days for a total of two applications. Typically, apply 60–100 mL of a 5% emulsifiable concentrate, or 60–100 g of a 5% tablet formulation, or 30–50 g of a 10% wettable powder, or 12–20 g of a 25% wettable powder, or 6–10 g of a 50% wettable powder, or 5–7 g of a 70% wettable powder or a 70% water‑dispersible granule formulation, or 15–25 mL of a 200 g/L solution, or 10–15 mL of a 350 g/L suspension per 667 m², diluted in 45–60 kg of water for even spray coverage. When infestations are severe, this product may be tank‑mixed with pyrethroid insecticides to enhance control efficacy.

     

      Citrus leafminer: Begin spraying when the damage rate on young leaves reaches 5%, repeating every 10–15 days for a total of two applications. Typically, use a 300–500-fold dilution of a 5% emulsifiable concentrate, or an 800–1,000-fold dilution of a 10% wettable powder, or a 1,500–2,000-fold dilution of a 25% wettable powder, or a 3,000–4,000-fold dilution of a 50% wettable powder, or a 5,000–7,000-fold dilution of a 70% wettable powder or a 70% water-dispersible granule, or a 1,500–2,000-fold dilution of a 200 g/L soluble concentrate, or a 2,500–3,500-fold dilution of a 350 g/L suspension concentrate—applying these solutions by uniform spray.

     

      Spray when the tea green leafhopper first appears or as soon as its population begins to increase rapidly, repeating every 10–15 days for 2–3 applications. Typically use a 600–800-fold dilution of a 5% emulsifiable concentrate, or a 200–1,500-fold dilution of a 10% wettable powder I, or a 3,000–4,000-fold dilution of a 25% wettable powder, or a 6,000–8,000-fold dilution of a 50% wettable powder, or an 8,000–10,000-fold dilution of a 70% wettable powder or a 70% water‑dispersible granule, or a 2,500–3,000-fold dilution of a 200 g/L soluble concentrate, or a 4,000–6,000-fold dilution of a 350 g/L suspension concentrate, applying the spray evenly.

     

      For pear psyllids, apply pesticide during the early nymph stage, before they are fully covered by honeydew; one spray per generation is sufficient. The dilution ratio should be the same as for the tea green leafhopper. For aphids on peach, apricot, and plum trees, spray once after bud break but before flowering, once after flowering, and again 15 days after flowering. The dilution ratio should also be the same as for the tea green leafhopper.

     

      The critical period for spraying to control the jujube green stink bug is from the bud‑break stage through the young fruit stage; apply fungicide every 10–15 days, alternating among different formulations. The recommended spray dilution ratio is the same as that for the tea leafhopper.

     

      Grape green stink bug: The period from bud break to flowering is the critical window for chemical control; apply fungicides every 7–10 days, alternating among different formulations. Spray dilution ratios are the same as for the tea leafhopper.

     

      Apple aphids should be controlled by spraying when the aphids first begin to infest the fruit, applying the treatment every 10–15 days for a total of 1–2 applications. Common formulations include a 1,000–1,200-fold dilution of a 5% emulsifiable concentrate, a 2,000–2,500-fold dilution of a 10% wettable powder, a 5,000–6,000-fold dilution of a 25% wettable powder, a 10,000–12,000-fold dilution of a 50% wettable powder, a 14,000–16,000-fold dilution of a 70% wettable powder or a 70% water-dispersible granule, a 4,000–5,000-fold dilution of a 200 g/L soluble concentrate, or a 7,000–9,000-fold dilution of a 350 g/L suspension concentrate—applied as a uniform spray.
