Revised List of Pesticides Banned or Restricted in China (as of December 2017)

　　I. Prohibition of Production, Sale, and Use Pesticide List (41 types)
　　1. Prohibited from production, sale, and use Pesticide List
　　(1) Announcement No. 199 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated June 5, 2002: The following substances are prohibited: hexachlorocyclohexane, DDT, toxaphene, dibromochloropropane, chlordimeform, ethylene dibromide, chlorobenzilate, aldrin, dieldrin, mercury compounds, arsenic and lead compounds, diquat, fluoroacetamide, monofluoroacetate, tetramine, sodium fluoroacetate, and silico‑fluoride.
　　(2) Announcement No. 1 of January 9, 2008, issued by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Agriculture, and four other ministries: Methamidophos, Parathion (1605), Methyl parathion (Methyl 1605), Monocrotophos, and Phosphamidon are hereby prohibited.
　　(3) Announcement No. 1586 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated June 15, 2011: The following substances are prohibited: benfuracarb, demeton‑S‑methyl‑sulphoxide, methyl parathion, calcium phosphide, magnesium phosphide, zinc phosphide, thiophosphorothioic acid O,O‑dimethyl ester, coumaphos, monocrotophos, and terbufos.
　　(4) Announcement No. 2032 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated December 19, 2013: Chlorsulfuron, cacodylic acid, cacodylamide, metsulfuron‑methyl, and tribenuron‑methyl are prohibited for domestic use.
　　(5) Announcement No. 2032 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated December 19, 2013: Effective July 1, 2017, the sale and use within China of formulated products containing amidosulfuron and metsulfuron‑methyl are prohibited.
　　(6) On April 24, 2012, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine issued Announcement No. 1745, stipulating that as of July 1, 2016, the sale and use of paraquat aqueous formulations would be prohibited within China.

　　(1) Announcement No. 2445 dated September 7, 2016: As of October 1, 2018, the sale and use of dicofol are hereby completely prohibited.
　　(2) Announcement No. 2552 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated July 14, 2017: Endosulfan is prohibited for agricultural use as of March 26, 2019.
　　(3) Announcement No. 2552 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated July 14, 2017: Effective January 1, 2019, products containing methyl bromide will be… Pesticide The registered scope of use has been changed to “quarantine fumigation,” and the agricultural use of methyl bromide‑containing products is prohibited.
　　II. Use and restricted use are prohibited on vegetables, fruit trees, tea plants, and Chinese medicinal herbs. Pesticide (17 types)
　　(1) Announcement No. 194 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated May 10, 2002: The use of omethoate on cabbage is prohibited.
　　(2) Announcement No. 199 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated June 5, 2002: The use of phorate (3911), methyl parathion, phosphamidon (1059), carbofuran (furadan), aldicarb (temik, temik‑ke), monocrotophos, thiometon, and chlorpyrifos is prohibited on vegetables, fruit trees, tea plants, and Chinese medicinal herbs.
　　(3) Announcement No. 199 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated June 5, 2002: The use of omethoate on citrus trees is prohibited.
　　(4) Announcement No. 199 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated June 5, 2002: The use of dicofol and fenvalerate on tea plants is prohibited.
　　(5) Announcement No. 2741 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated April 30, 2003: The use of daminozide (B-nine) is prohibited in… Peanut For use on.
　　(6) Announcement No. 1157 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated February 25, 2009: Except for sanitary purposes, Corn Some dryland fields seed Except for use as a coating agent, fipronil is prohibited for any other purposes.
　　(7) Announcement No. 1586 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated June 15, 2011: The use of isocarbophos on citrus trees is prohibited; the use of methomyl on citrus trees, apple trees, tea plants, and cruciferous vegetables is prohibited; the use of endosulfan on apple trees and tea plants is prohibited; and the use of methyl bromide on strawberries and cucumbers is prohibited.
　　(8) Announcement No. 2032 of the Ministry of Agriculture, dated December 9, 2013: Effective December 31, 2016, the use of chlorpyrifos and triazophos on vegetables is prohibited.
　　(9) According to Ministry of Agriculture Announcement No. 2552 dated July 14, 2017, effective August 1, 2017, the registration of acephate, butyl‑thiophos, and dimethoate (including products containing these three substances) will be revoked. Pesticide Single‑ingredient and formulated products containing the active ingredient (hereinafter referred to as “formulated products”) are used on vegetable, melon and fruit, tea, mushroom, and traditional Chinese medicinal herb crops. Pesticide Registration is hereby discontinued; applications for the use of acephate, carbosulfan, and dimethoate on vegetables, melons and fruits, tea, mushrooms, and Chinese medicinal herbs will no longer be accepted or approved. Pesticide Registration application: Effective August 1, 2019, the use of acephate, carbosulfan, and dimethoate is prohibited on vegetables, melons and fruits, tea, mushrooms, and Chinese medicinal herbs.
　　III. Prohibition on Other Crops Pesticide
　　(1) Announcement No. 2445 dated September 7, 2016: For rice, flufenoxuron is prohibited for use on rice crops effective October 1, 2018.
　　(2) Announcement No. 2445 dated September 7, 2016: Sugarcane—The use of carbofuran, phorate, and methyl parathion on sugarcane has been revoked. Pesticide Registration; effective October 1, 2018, the use of carbofuran, phorate, and methyl parathion on sugarcane is prohibited.
