    The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has released the “List of Class I Crop Pests and Diseases,” which includes 10 pest species and 7 disease species.

    On September 15, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued Announcement No. 333 of the People’s Republic of China. The announcement states that, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Regulations on the Prevention and Control of Crop Pests and Diseases, and in order to strengthen the categorized management of such pests and diseases, the Ministry has organized the formulation of the “List of Class I Crop Pests and Diseases,” which is hereby promulgated.

     

    List of Major Crop Pests and Diseases

     

    10 types of insect pests

     

    1. Fall Armyworm

    Spodoptera frugiperda (Smith)

    2. Locust

    Locusta migratoria Linnaeus (the migratory locust and other migratory grasshoppers)

    3. Grass Armyworm

    Loxostege sticticalis Linnaeus

    4. Insect sticky traps

    [Oriental Armyworm, Mythimna separata (Walker), and Lory’s Armyworm, Leucania loryi Duponchel]

    5. Rice planthopper
