Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs: Public Solicitation of Comments on Draft National Food Safety Standards, Including Maximum Residue Limits for Pesticides and Methods for Detecting Pesticide Residues

In accordance with the Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Law on Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products of the People’s Republic of China, and other relevant regulations, the Department of Crop Production Management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has drafted the following documents: “Maximum Residue Limits for 51 Pesticides, Including Avermectin, in Food (Draft for Public Comment)”; “Maximum Residue Limits for 74 Pesticides, Including 2,4‑D Butyric Acid, in Food (Draft for Public Comment)”; as well as “Gas Chromatographic Method for the Determination of Residues of 91 Organophosphorus Pesticides and Their Metabolites in Plant‑Derived Foods (Draft for Public Comment)”; “Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry Method for the Determination of Cyanamide Residues in Plant‑Derived Foods (Draft for Public Comment)”; and “Plant…”.
In accordance with the Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Law on Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products of the People’s Republic of China, and other relevant provisions, the Department of Crop Production Management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has organized the drafting of the “Regulations on 51 Substances, Including Avermectin, in Food.” Pesticide Maximum Residue Limits (Draft for Public Comment), and “74 substances including 2,4‑D butyl ester in food” Pesticide Maximum Residue Limits (Draft for Public Comment), as well as “91 Organophosphorus Compounds in Plant-Based Foods” Pesticide “Determination of Residues of [Substance] and Its Metabolites by Gas Chromatography (Draft for Public Comment),” “Determination of Cyanamide Residues in Plant‑Derived Foods by Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (Draft for Public Comment),” “Determination of Copper Quinolate Residues in Plant‑Derived Foods by High‑Performance Liquid Chromatography (Draft for Public Comment),” and “Determination of Metaldehyde Residues in Plant‑Derived Foods by Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (Draft for Public Comment)” — a total of four analytical methods.
