    Breaking: An explosion has occurred at a chemical plant in Yingde, Guangdong, which produces 5,650 tons of pesticides annually!

      Around 11:30 p.m. on August 6, a fire broke out at the finished‑goods warehouse of Guangdong Guangkang Biochemical Technology Co., Ltd., located in Shakou Town, Yingde City. According to reports, the blaze raged for two hours, during which mushroom clouds rose and loud explosions echoed repeatedly; nearby villagers reported smelling a pungent odor. Pesticide Taste.
      Upon receiving the report, Yingde City immediately activated its emergency response plan for hazardous chemicals.       Upon arrival at the scene, an on-site command center was established. Following verification, all personnel within the plant premises had been safely evacuated. Meanwhile, more than 400 residents in the surrounding area were also evacuated.
      The Emergency Management Bureaus of Qingyuan and Yingde responded swiftly, deploying more than 100 firefighters and over 20 fire trucks to combat the blaze. Firefighters promptly established firebreaks, containing the fire within the finished‑goods warehouse. After eight hours of intensive efforts, the open flames were extinguished at 7:30 a.m. on August 7. No casualties were reported, and the cause of the incident is under further investigation.
      At present, the fire department is carrying out final cleanup operations, while environmental protection and other relevant authorities are systematically implementing environmental monitoring, site clearance, and other post‑incident response measures to ensure that no abnormalities arise. Local residents have returned home from temporary shelters, and their daily lives and production activities are proceeding in an orderly manner.
      An official from the Yingde City Emergency Management Bureau stated that, following the fire, emergency response, fire services, environmental protection, and other relevant departments promptly arrived on scene to manage the situation and minimize losses. “At present, experts and other technical personnel have been dispatched to conduct an on-site assessment. Going forward, a thorough investigation into the cause of the incident will be carried out, and the findings will be made public as soon as they are available.”

Notably, the Guangzhou facility is undertaking a technological upgrade project with an annual capacity of 5,650 tons of insecticides and fungicides.
