At 9:00 a.m., more than 500 attendees—including 31 Chinese and foreign academicians, leading figures from the science and technology community, representatives from research institutions, and executives from well-known enterprises—gathered at the Changzhou University Gymnasium to honor Changzhou’s commitment to technological advancement and reinvigorate the city’s innovative momentum. This year’s “May 18 Exhibition and Negotiation” brought together over 100 organizations—such as institutes affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, domestic and international universities, renowned enterprises, financial institutions, and intermediary service agencies—along with more than 500 participants for the opening ceremony and various specialized events. Among them were Xie Yimin, Wang Kesheng, Yang Tianruo, Yan Hong, and others.

    On May 18, the 13th China Changzhou Advanced Manufacturing Technology Achievement Exhibition and Negotiation Conference kicked off at the Changzhou Science and Education City. At 9:00 a.m., more than 500 attendees—including 31 Chinese and foreign academicians, leading figures from the science and technology community, representatives from research institutions, and executives from renowned enterprises—gathered at the Changzhou University Gymnasium to honor Changzhou’s commitment to technological advancement and once again converge on this vibrant hub of innovation.

    This year’s “May 18 Exhibition and Trade Fair” has invited more than 100 organizations—including research institutes affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, domestic and international universities, renowned enterprises, financial institutions, and intermediary service agencies—along with over 500 participants to attend the opening ceremony and a variety of specialized events. Among them are six foreign academicians, including Xie Yimin, Wang Kesheng, Yang Tianruo, Yan Hong, Zhen Chongli, and Meng Qinggang; 25 Chinese academicians, such as Zheng Youqian, Ni Guangnan, and Liu Wenqing; more than 50 representatives from overseas universities and research institutions, including the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and Loughborough University in the United Kingdom; over 50 researchers from more than 20 institutes within the CAS system; and more than 200 faculty members and students from over 50 leading domestic universities. In addition, nearly 200 participants from prominent enterprises, financial institutions, and various other organizations have been invited.

    Fifty-one key projects were signed in a集中 ceremony, including nine collaborative platform‑building initiatives, ten industry–university–research partnerships, 22 investment‑attraction projects, and ten programs aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and talent. These projects span such sectors as new materials, intelligent manufacturing equipment, new pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, new energy, next‑generation information technology, optomechatronics, energy conservation and environmental protection, as well as new‑energy vehicles and core automotive components.

    As a cutting-edge innovation of the 21st century, Corning’s reactor technology has long enjoyed strong support and recognition from both the Changzhou Science and Education City and the leadership of Changzhou Municipality. At this exhibition, Corning—representing an enterprise resident in the Science and Education City—showcased its latest technological breakthrough: a fully integrated, continuous platform for synthesis, separation, and online analysis. This process platform boasts a high degree of automation, enabling rapid screening of process conditions and instant access to reaction outcomes. Corning’s exhibit drew numerous experts and corporate representatives to its booth for exchanges and discussions, creating a highly dynamic and engaging atmosphere. During the event, several media outlets, including Xinhuanet and Changzhou TV, visited Corning’s booth to conduct interviews and produce coverage.

    On the morning of May 18, Jiangsu Province Vice Governor Ma Qiulin, accompanied by Changzhou Municipal Party Secretary Wang Quan, Mayor Ding Chun, and leaders of the Science and Education City, visited the Corning booth to offer guidance. He expressed full appreciation for Corning’s innovative reactor technologies and its dedicated efforts to promote safe, green production in the fine chemicals and pharmaceutical industries.

    Corning’s “Micro‑Reactions + Micro‑Separation + Online Analytics – an Integrated Platform for Continuous Processes” is suitable for laboratory‑scale continuous‑flow process development, optimization, and pilot‑scale production. By leveraging Corning’s integrated platform, it is possible to tackle a range of challenging reactions that are difficult or impossible to achieve in batch reactors, generate new intellectual property during the technological upgrading of existing processes, and maintain a competitive edge in an increasingly fierce market. At the same time, this approach significantly shortens the timelines for R&D and process scale‑up, enabling rapid responses to market dynamics. Moreover, Corning’s industrial‑scale reactor technology offers fine‑chemical and pharmaceutical companies a practical, inherently safe, and highly efficient solution for sustainable chemical manufacturing.
