The European Commission has formally approved the registration of the insecticide active substances acetamiprid and cypermethrin, as well as the fungicide active substance fluopyram. Following evaluation, acetamiprid and cypermethrin may be used in products for the control of insects, mites, and other arthropods. Effective February 1, 2020, acetamiprid will be granted a registration lasting up to seven years, while cypermethrin will receive a registration of up to ten years, effective June 1, 2020. Starting February 1, 2019, fluopyram will be registered for a period of ten years as an active substance in wood preservatives. To obtain registration, biocidal products are evaluated with particular attention paid to their intended applications.

　　Dinotefuran and cypermethrin have been evaluated and are approved for use as insecticides, acaricides, and other arthropod-control products.

　　Effective February 1, 2019, fludioxonil will be granted a 10-year registration as an active ingredient for use in wood preservatives.
　　To obtain registration, biocidal products are evaluated with particular attention to the risks and efficacy of the active substances to which users may be exposed during application; however, this process does not involve a European‑level risk assessment of the active substance itself.
