    The 54th Annual Session of the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues was held in Beijing.

     June 26, Codex Alimentarius Pesticide The 54th Session of the Codex Committee on Food Additives (CCPR) was held in Beijing. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, and it also represents the 16th meeting hosted by China since assuming the presidency of the CCPR. Zhang Xingwang, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, Ni Hua, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the FAO in China, and WHO official Madsen attended the session and delivered remarks, while CCPR Chairperson Shan Weili presided over the proceedings.
      The conference highly commended the Codex Alimentarius Commission for its remarkable achievements over the past 60 years in safeguarding global consumer health and safety, upholding fairness in international food trade, and continuously advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The conference noted that the Chinese government has consistently attached great importance to food security and, in recent years, has implemented a series of major measures that have yielded significant results. It emphasized that ensuring the effective supply and quality and safety of agricultural products and food is a shared responsibility that all countries must address, and that greater exchanges and cooperation among nations are essential to jointly promote global food security and sustainable development.
      This meeting has 16 agenda items and will deliberate on more than 30 types of matters. Pesticide Among the draft maximum residue limits for agricultural products, 550 entries were included, among them data submitted by China on difenoconazole/Notoginseng and bromcyhalin/broccoli. More than 300 delegates from 43 member countries and one member organization (the European Union), as well as from 12 international organizations, attended the meeting.
